Emma Hayes, Managing Director, has over 20 years’ experience in the AEC industry in Ireland and internationally. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Technology from Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), Bolton Street and a Master’s Degree in BIM Management from Middlesex University. Emma was one of a small number of students to win a scholarship from Middlesex University, which are awarded to postgrads for academic excellence.

Previously, Emma was the Group BIM Manager with the project delivery specialists, PM Group, who are a large multi-disciplined AEC and Project Management organisation.  She was responsible for the development and implementation of the Group BIM strategy and roll-out of procedures and workflows for BIM adoption across the organisation’s network of offices in Europe, Asia and the US.  Emma has executed BIM on a number of high-value complex projects in the pharma, food, energy and mission-critical sectors such as the Dublin Waste to Energy plant at Poolbeg, She also has extensive experience delivering residential, retail and commercial projects.

Emma is actively involved in driving progress in BIM adoption in the AEC industry. She has presented research papers at international conferences such as the CitA BIM Gathering. She is on the Judging Panel for the BIM Excellence category at this year’s Irish Construction Excellence Awards and is involved in the BIM Innovation Capability Programme (BICP). She mentors and supports the development of women’s careers in BIM through her involvement in the Women in BIM (WiB) network. She is also a part-time lecturer on the Middlesex University BIM Management Master’s Programme.

Steve Hayes, Director, is an MBA qualified Chartered Mechanical Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in engineering, production and senior management. He has extensive experience in Project Management, New Product Introduction, Process Improvement, Customer Relationship Management, Business Strategy and Technical Leadership.

Most recently, Steve has successfully delivered a collaborative team working environment across different locations and cultures in a multinational airline. His experience and knowledge of best practice in heavily regulated and dynamic industries such as aviation, give Digital Built Consultants a unique advantage where Steve will provide key strategic input to the organisation.
